“Angelo Moratti” Sports Center

The Angelo Moratti Sports Center is one of the most important places in the history of F.C. International where the first team conducts the training sessions. It is a place that has undergone a process of constant and ambitious renewal for a few years, which has set the goal of generating not only new spaces, but also a renewed strategic organization of the already existing areas.

A territorial workshop in three days of exploration of the northern lagoon and its islands: the history and the sandbanks of the Lazzaretto Nuovo, the gardens and the Torre Massimiliana di Sant’Erasmo, the fishing tradition and the ecosystem in which Venice was born and grew up.
A weekend of territorial exploration within the Sentiero delle Barene, an innovative project of the network of Archeoclub di Venezia and CAVV – CSV di Venezia Coordination of Voluntary Associations of the Metropolitan City of Venice (Competition of ideas for the development of solidarity communities 2019), starting from the island of Lazzaretto Nuovo, one of the richest islands in biodiversity and immersed in the lagoon ecosystem now at risk of disappearance, according to the innovative role of the “heritage communities” promoted by the Faro Convention of the Council of Europe on the value of cultural and environmental heritage for society.

Maggiolina’s masterplan is a project of urban regeneration that intervenes through demolition and reconstruction on an abandoned area, the former Il Giorno typographies, going to create a residential park. On over 10 thousand square meters of surface, in fact, 7000 square meters have been used as a green space. The two buildings, Sky tower and Maggiolina Gardens, are designed with a combination of different typological units in strong relationship with the exterior, aimed at obtaining a feeling of openness of the luminous space and environmental comfort.

The reorganization project of the stadium San Siro zone is based on the need to redefine the area close to the construction sites of the new line MM5 subway.

Around the parking fences, distinguished by uses and functions, the proposal provides a large public park open to the city and transport services to support spectators of major sporting events.

The project involves the study of three placement hypotheses for the new FC Internazionale Youth Sports Center. Three areas have been identified: San Siro, Cormano and Cornaredo, where, according to the context, a system was studied that could contain the detailed program required by the client’s needs. The functional areas have been divided into: public and media areas, services for athletes and administration, areas of athletic and rehabilitative preparation and medicine and possible areas of real estate development alongside the main facilities of the center itself. For each hypothesis the accessibility, the paths and the management of the expected flows have been studied.

The creation of an identity image of the Innovation Design District comes first of all from the territorial analysis and a mapping of the places of interest and the players involved in the area. This study led to define the limits and paths involved during possible events in the district. Therefore, portals were designed that had the function not only of actual entrance to the district, but also of objects able to host interactive informations and materials. The physical and programmatic relationship between all these elements generates the identity and the spatiality of the IDD.

The agricultural areas have assumed an unprecedented importance today compared to the past: they contain natural resources, they are ecological corridor, a space in which to achieve a qualitative growth of society and a balanced development of the territory.

The proposal for an agricultural and environmental regeneration of Borgo Canali is the first case study of Reggio Emilia and there will be some high quality housing units constructed with prefabrication advanced techniques, ecological compensation systems and low emissions production.
